I have been reading about otoplasty and have seen many instances of incisions opening up before the healing process. Is this common, and what kind of effect would this have on someone’s health?
Answer:
If done properly the incisions for an otoplasty behind the ear should not open up early. They should heal fine and cause no problems at all.

Question:
I just got the bandages from my otoplasty off today. There is much more bruising than I expected. When does the bruising begin to fade? Are there any remedies out there to help speed up the healing?
Answer:
Not really……and bruising from an otoplasty can last 5-7 days easily. Eat well and do not traumatize your ears and the bruising will fade soon.
Question: My mother in law is planning on having eyelid surgery. She lives alone and I really think she should have someone staying with her for at least the first night after her surgery, but she says she doesn't need that. Will she be alright on her own or should someone stay with her?
Answer: I would recommend having someone stay with her the first night. Not only is it safer but you have someone to help her to the kitchen and\or the bathroom as needed.
Question: I am a 27 year old male who is considering otoplasty. I'm wondering if the procedure would leave noticeable scars. Where are the scars located? What can you do to try and conceal the scars?
Answer:Otoplasty incisions are in the crease behind the ear and will not been seen by anyone without pulling your ear forward. They hide very well.
