I'd like to get eyelid surgery. When I think of what the surgery actually does, I feel like the eyes will be more open after surgery and that you may then have trouble closing them. Does this ever happen?
Answer:
Not if done correctly. The eyes should have good, normal and easy closure after a properly done blepharoplasty. If not, the procedure was not done correctly and you need to see your surgeon for a proper fix
I have loose, crepey skin around my eyelids. Can this be fixed with blepharoplasty?
Answer:
This is usually the procedure of choice for loose creepy skin around the eyes, the only alternative would be to do mild lasering.our surgeon for a fix.
Question: My mother in law is planning on having eyelid surgery. She lives alone and I really think she should have someone staying with her for at least the first night after her surgery, but she says she doesn't need that. Will she be alright on her own or should someone stay with her?
Answer: I would recommend having someone stay with her the first night. Not only is it safer but you have someone to help her to the kitchen and\or the bathroom as needed.

Question: I had upper and lower eyelid surgery six weeks ago and I'm mostly happy with the results. My upper eyelids look much, much better. The bags under my eyes are improved, but the skin there now looks sort of baggy. Will this get better in time or is there anything that I can do to make it better?
Answer: At six weeks if there is still sagging and some baggieness under your eyes you will most likely need revision surgery to remove more skin.

Question: My mother and her sisters have always had horrible dark circles under their eyes and I’m worried that I’ll end up with the same. I’m already beginning to see some darkness and I was wondering if there is anything that I can do to prevent them and if they do get worse, does a blepharoplasty fix this?
Answer: Dark circles under the eye are usually caused by vascular (blood vessel) congestion where the skin is very thin and translucent. The best way to solve the problem is with make-up and camouflage. If the problem is due to hyperpigmentation than a bleaching cream may help. A blepharoplasty will probably help to some degree.
Question: I had permanent eyeliner tattooed on earlier in my twenties. I am now in my forties and was wondering if an eyelid procedure is able to remove the area of my eyelids that are tattooed?
Answer: Perhaps, however if the tattooing is too close to the eyelid margin in cannot be removed by a standard blepharoplasty.

Question: Can a blepharoplasty effectively remove my dark under eye circles?
Answer: Probably not, as most dark circles are caused by underlying vascular congestion in the tissues seen easily because of the thinness of skin in the under eye area.
Question: I’d like to get an eyelid lift but I’ve had problems with dry eyes for most of my life and was wondering if this would keep me from being a good candidate.
Answer: You may find after a blepharoplasty that your dry eye problem has become a little worse. My suggestion is to avoid the surgery or consider the chronic use of artificial tears if needed.
Question: I'm 42 years old and interested in eyelid surgery. I'd like my overall eye area improved but I'm also wondering if it would fix the small lines I have in the inner corners of my eyes toward my nose.
Answer: The best approach for this problem is careful laser with the CO2 Fraxel laser which will tighten the skin and remove the lines in this area without the need for surgical work.
Question: I had eyelid surgery a year ago and loved my results at first. Now the skin under my eyes looks really loose and sagging. What can I do to fix this?
Answer: You have two options; the first is to do a revision blepharoplasty and remove the excess skin surgically, the second and probably the better choice is to do some mild laser with the CO2 Fraxel laser and just tighten up the remaining skin.
